Airport / Waikkala – Club Hotel Dolphin
Day 01  
    Airport / Waikkala – Club Hotel Dolphin
   
AM Arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport. Welcome and assistance upon arrival and transfer to the hotel in Waikkala. Rest of the morning at leisure at the hotel. PM In the afternoon visit the fishing village. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Club Hotel Dolphin.
 
 
Day 02  
    Waikkala / Dambulla / Giritale
   
AM After breakfast, checkout from the hotel and proceed to Dambulla. Visit the Rock Caved Golden Temple of Dambulla, which is famous for its 01st Century BC cave complex and its vast area of mural painted on the surface of the rock. It is also known for its large number of statues of Lord Buddha carved out of the living rock. PMAfter the visit, proceed to Giritale and check in at the Royal Lotus Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
     
 
Day 03  
    Giritale / Polonnaruwa / Sigiriya – Sigiriya Village
   
AM After breakfast, checkout from the hotel and proceed to Dambulla. Visit the Rock Caved Golden Temple of Dambulla, which is famous for its 01st Century BC cave complex and its vast area of mural painted on the surface of the rock. It is also known for its large number of statues of Lord Buddha carved out of the living rock. Day 04  
    Sigiriya Village/Anuradhapura and return
   
After an early breakfast depart to explore the vast ancient city of Anuradhapura. Anuradhapura was the first capital of Sri Lanka and held this position for approx 1300 years (3BC – 10 AD). The city is also a UNESCO world heritage site. Among its most famous sights is the Sri Maha Bodhiya, which is a Bo tree sapling brought from the tree under which the Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. The Abayagiri Stupa is the largest brick monument in the world is also part of this ancient city. Other attractions at this ancient city include the Ruwanweliseya, Kuttam Pokuna (Bathing Pool), and Isurumuniya. Isurumuniya in particular houses the sculpture of the Isurumuniya Lovers which is supposed to be Dutugemunu's son and a low caste maiden Asokamala. He is known to have given up his throne for her.
After exploring the ancient city leave for Sigiriya for Dinner and overnight stay at the Sigiriya Village
     
 
Day 05  
    Sigiriya/Kandy – Hotel Thilanka
   
AM After breakfast, checkout from the hotel and proceed to Kandy. En route a brief stop at Matale to visit a spice garden and a batik factory. PMProceed to Kandy and visit the city and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. In the evening view a cultural show featuring traditional dance performance. Check in at the hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Hotel Thilanka .
     
 
Day 06  
    Kandy / Pinnawela / Peradeniya / Kandy – Hotel Thilanka
   
AM After breakfast, proceed to visit the elephant orphanage at Pinnawela. . It is an orphanage for baby elephants set up by the Department of National Zoological Gardens. The Orphanage was established to feed, nurse, and house young elephants found abandoned by their mothers. Other inmates are those found displaced from their natural environs by development projects or those found wounded. PMReturn to Kandy. En route, visit the Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya, The Royal Botanical Garden at Peradeniya was established in 1821 and now covers 140 acres, snuggled in a loop in the Mahaweli River, the longest river in Sri Lanka. Its primary purpose was the testing and acclimatizing of plants for commercial use in Sri Lanka. Today the Gardens have one of the largest collections of flora from sub tropical climates around the world. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
     
 
Day 07  
   
Kandy / Nuwara Eliya – Grand Hotel
   
AM After breakfast, checkout from the hotel and proceed to Nuwara Eliya. En route visit a tea plantation and a tea factory. PMArrive in Nuwara Eliya and visit the city. Check in at the hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Grand Hotel, Nuwara Elliya.
 
 
Day 08  
    Nuwara Eliya / Hakgala / Ella / Yala – Yala Village
   
After breakfast visit the Hakgala Botanical Gardens and proceed to Yala Wild Life Sanctuary and PM do a safari of Yala National Park, the second largest park in the Island The Elephant is undoubtedly the best known attraction at Yala, seen in small & large herds. Herds of spotted deer are seen all over the park. Monkeys-the pinkish rhesus and the Grey-faced Langur Monkey, live and play on the tree-tops and the ground below. Wild buffalo & wild boar could give you a good surprise & the sight of a leopard sunning itself or drinking water at a water hole could be memorable experience .the peacock is easily the most famous of the birds at Yala. The painted stork, many varieties of heron, the spoonbill, the bee-eater, parakeets, king-fisher & wood pecker are some of the birds can be seen in the park. Dinner and Over Night stay at Yala Village.
     
 
Day 09  
    Yala/Matara/Hikkaduwa/Galle/Bentota
   
Leave for the beach resort of Bentota visiting en-route the Old Dutch Fortress of Galle, the Turtle Hatchery and the Coral Gardens of Hikkaduwa by glass bottomed boat. Dinner and Overnight stay Taj Exotica -Bentota
 
 
 
 
09 to 14  
    Relax on Taj Exotica

AM Checkout from the hotel and continue to the airport in time for the departure flight. Please note that you have to be at the airport 03 hours before the actual departure hour.
